| الوصف: | « La femme nouvelle » est une traduction inédite de « Die neue Frau », texte que la sociologue allemande Marianne Weber rédige à la veille de 1914. Celui-ci constitue une réponse aux thèses de Georg Simmel sur les femmes. Marianne Weber axe toute son argumentation d’inspiration kantienne sur l’égalité de toute personne humaine. Elle avance une revendication première : faire sortir les femmes de la sphère privée, de l’espace domestique, et leur ouvrir l’accès à la parole politique et à l’espace public. La femme moderne est capable de solidarité et de créer une communauté. Elle est capable d’autonomie morale, que seule la participation pleine et entière au monde objectif et à la vie publique peut lui permettre d’atteindre. “The New Woman” is an unpublished translation of “Die neue Frau”—a text which the German sociologist, Marianne Weber, wrote shortly before 1914. It constitutes an answer to Georg Simmel’s theses on women, published in La mode. Marianne Weber bases her whole argument, which is Kantian in inspiration, on the equality of all human persons. Her first demand was for women’s issues to be moved from the private sphere and domestic space by opening access to the political sphere and public space. The modern woman is capable of solidarity and creating a community. She is capable of the moral autonomy which she can only achieve through full participation in the outside world and public life. |
