Sa légèreté, son emprise fugace sur le sol font partie intégrante de cette conception. Le territoire est imaginé lui-même comme une tente protectrice. Il résulte d’un travail de mise en ordre du désert par les parcours nomades qui le rendent viable et installent les ancrages utiles pour le transformer en maison-territoire. For the Touaregs, the Berber-speaking people of Central Sahara, the nomadic house – a tent made of leather or mat – is the epitome of permanence, stability, and durability. Its lightness and movability are part and parcel of this representation. The territory itself is seen as a protective tent as the Touaregs "construct" their desert through nomadic trails that make it viable and provide useful anchors, turning it into a house-cum-territory. |
