| الوصف: | En los últimos años el fenómeno del offshoring está adquiriendo una gran importancia en la industria europea, especialmente en los sectores manufactureros. La complejidad de análisis de la estrategia de offshoring, así como la necesidad de profundizar en aquellos aspectos que son de mayor interés para las empresas (factores determinantes de la estrategia y resultados de su implementación) justifican el interés de esta tesis doctoral.En este sentido, el objetivo de esta investigación consiste en validar si ciertas características propias de la empresa, que han sido consideradas como factores determinantes del uso de la estrategia de offshoring, influyen también en la decisión del tipo de offshoring a implementar (internal o external), así como también comprobar si los resultados derivados del uso de esta estrategia difieren según el tipo de offshoring utilizado. A partir de una muestra de 156 empresas multinacionales europeas, se observa como ciertas características propias de la empresa que, según la teoría, influyen en la decisión de implementar estrategias de offshoring, no pueden considerarse factores determinantes del tipo de offshoring utilizado por las empresas multinacionales europeas. Por otro lado, no existen diferencias entre los resultados derivados del uso de cada uno de los dos tipos de offshoring analizados. Sin embargo, se observa como las razones que motivan a las empresas multinacionales europeas a utilizar un tipo de offshoring u otro difieren entre sí.Los resultados obtenidos en este estudio podrían servir de referencia para profundizar en el análisis de la implementación de estrategias de offshoring, por un lado, por la importancia que el uso de estas estrategias está teniendo en la actualidad, y por otro, porque, como pone de manifiesto este trabajo, los resultados obtenidos hasta el momento únicamente analizan la dimensión externa de la estrategia (external offshoring), dejando fuera del análisis el offshoring realizado a través de filiales propias (internal offshoring).__________________________________________________________________________________________________ |
| الوصف (مترجم): | In the last years, the offshoring strategy has been increasing in the European industry, mainly in manufacturing sectors. The analysis of this strategy is complex and the need to further study those aspects that are of greater interest to the companies (as the determinants of its choice and the performance of its implementation are) justify this dissertation. In this sense, the research aims at validating whether some organizational characteristics influence the choice of the mode of offshoring (internal or external) and check whether the performance of its implementation varies with the type of offshoring used. By analizing a sample of 156 European multinational companies, results show how some organizational characteristics, considered in the literature as determinants of the use of offshoring, have no influence on the decision to implement one or another offshoring mode. On the other hand, no difference between the performance of the two offshoring modes is found. The reasons motivating European multinationals companies to use one or another mode of offshoring are, however, different.The results of this study could be a reference to deepen in the analysis of the implementation of these strategies due to the importance of the use of these strategies in this moment, on the one hand, and because, as this research has demonstrated, previous studies have only discussed the external dimension of the strategy (external offshoring), leaving out the offshoring through its own subsidiaries (internal offshoring), on the other hand. |
