| مستخلص: | This handbook provides information about the philosophy of elementary education in Alberta, the educational needs of the province's elementary school students, the organization of instructional programs, and school administration. Some of the directives presented in the handbook are obligatory, while others are simply suggestions. The first chapter deals with the importance and unique role of elementary school in the lives of students. The second chapter sets forth the goals of elementary education, identifies student needs, and offers suggestions for organizing instruction. The third chapter is devoted to the organization of the schools and their programs, from nursery school to the sixth year. The fourth chapter focuses on administrative concerns, covering provisions of the School Act that concern the responsibilities of school directors and teachers; sections of the Alberta Education Policy Manual; regulations regarding nursery school, French immersion programs, home schooling, languages other than French and English, private schools, student evaluation, student files, and instruction in French; and additional requirements regarding sex education and the use of human fluids and tissue in instructional programs.
