مستخلص: If this is the age of innovation why is our educational system still navigating the future from the past? Recounts of industry hiring managers' negative perspectives about recent graduates' soft skills, when will this end and how will it be achieved before the 22nd century? The problem addressed in this study is that industry hiring managers and recent university business graduates diversely interpret industry-needed soft skills (Succi & Canovi, 2020). The purpose of this qualitative exploratory case study was to examine university job placement advisors' interpretation of soft skills and their experiences with how industry hiring managers and university graduates diversely interpret industry-needed soft skills. The qualitative case study explored three research questions: what do university job placement advisors perceive as relevant soft skills in the workforce? What are university job placement advisors' perspectives of recent graduates' soft skills in relation to industry hiring managers' request? What do university job placement advisors perceive as their role in bridging the soft skills gap to make graduates more employable. The participants in this study were university job placement advisors. Findings from the study revealed that most university job placement advisors identified communication, selfdevelopment, and critical thinking as the most relevant soft skills for graduate work readiness. Participants agreed that there is a disconnect between industry hiring managers and recent graduates' opinions of soft skills. Contrary to what previous investigators reported, participants shared mixed reviews about the feedback they received from industry hiring managers about recent graduates' soft skills. The implications of the data indicate that although generational differences, social changes, industry shifts, and technology are factors that contribute to the gap; more research on how to implement policy changes to decrease the gap is crucial.
