Waqf institutions have played a significant role in poverty alleviation, wealth distribution and in promoting the social well-being among Muslim society. This book provides readers with current knowledge of the waqf development especially in the context of Malaysia. It highlights the potential of waqf as an Islamic philantrophy tool and discussed the history of waqf, waqf agenda in national economic plan and the role of cash waqf in Malaysia. The development of waqf, particularly in Muslim world, public organisation, corporation and non-profit organisation were also discussed. This book also highlights the issues relating to the waqf endowers and financial institutions'role in strengthening the waqf.
